Good quality but no iPhone jack

I have both an iPhone and an Android so I was looking for headphones that would work with both. The headphones themselves are very good. They sound good and fit my ears well, but I had to buy a separate iPhone extension cable as it only came with an Android connector. The description said they would work with either. But what they didn't say is that you have to buy a separate adapter!
