This is definitely not equivalent to a 180 watt light bulb, despite the claim. I replaced a 100 watt lightbulb with the same color temperature and this lightbulb was brighter than this one. Update with better results: A supplier sent me a brighter 45 watt bulb for free. It's definitely the best experience and I'm more than happy with the results. I have raised my rating from 3 to 4 stars. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 is because I have a floor lamp with a bell dome, and this lamp is longer than the previous one, adding about 4 inches to the dome.
