Review on πŸ”§ FRAM FV400 PCV Valve for Efficient Positive Crankcase Ventilation by Marcos Oner

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor replica of the original valve

I bought this for my 2002 Nissan Frontier 4 cylinder truck. When I changed the oil I decided to change it. I removed the old valve with 18" needle nose pliers (the valve is almost inaccessible). I put the new valve on the hose and then tried to push it back into the grommet (large end of the valve). No matter how hard I squeezed, the new valve would not fit into the sleeve. I thought maybe it takes some oil to get into the bushing but that didn't help. I removed the new valve and compared it to the removed factory valve. The big end that goes into the hub is over .020" larger than the OEM! The shape of this valve end also differs slightly from the OEM. I sincerely think if you had some way of squeezing this poorly copied valve into the sleeve you would have a hard time getting it back off. I ended up taking the old valve and cleaning it in a can of acetone to remove any dirt that had built up in the valve, then blew it out with compressed air. I reinstalled the old valve that fit easily in the sleeve and threw away the crappy valve. Stay away from this valve - it's a bad OEM copy. The OEM valve is black in the attached picture.
