I used a bottle brush on long neck kombucha bottles that have fruit residue stuck to the bottom wide neck. I gave the bottles a quick soak in warm, soapy water, then bobbed the brush up and down, twisting it slightly. I had to do this for at least a full minute on each bottle before they were completely clean. I think the bristles should be a little stiffer so I'm only giving it 4 stars. Otherwise, with a little patience and effort, this brush served its purpose. It seems to be of good quality to last and definitely beats trying to stick a rag through a narrow neck bottle! The brush is definitely long enough to reach the bottom of a standard wine bottle and it worked well on our wider Chemex as well. We'll be using it on our tall narrow glasses, water bottles and deeper coffee cups and I'm happy with how well it's cleaning so far. I haven't used a straw brush before, and since we rarely use straws, we think we'll be using this smaller brush primarily for cleaning our computer keyboard. Both brushes have a hole or loop at the bottom so they can be hung up to dry.
