Like many others, I had the same initial disappointment when trying to open the back. I was almost ready to give it back but my son wouldn't give up. We took a closer look at how the back cover of the old remote fits into the case (little protrusions that fit into the locking groove). We decided that we just needed to overcome the engagement of the lugs with the grooves. The best trick my son has found is to wear rubber gloves on both hands for a "good grip". Just plain yellow rubber gloves for use in the kitchen. Worked like clockwork, no fuss. I also found that it was very easy to open after several cycles of opening/closing (working out tabs). Plus, it's excellent value for money. I like the buttons as they are easy to feel in low light. I'm having trouble getting the "Number" button to work on my TV; I had the remote replaced; But I still don't understand how to get this button to work. Appreciate any advice.
