After my last three broke I decided steel was the solution and I was right. For me, this is the most important moment in the press. Now the mill was even more important to me. The adjustable grinder lets you fine-tune your coffee based on the beans and how you want to brew it. Coarse for a press or finer for a drip pot, as easy as turning a knob. It's a great choice. I use it several times a day and every time I'm glad I chose it. Edit: The handle on top isn't very strong and broke the first time it fell into the sink. I don't care, I quickly assembled a wood replacement that lasted over a year. Almost a year and a half at least once a day and still works great. The capacity is stated as 800 ml (28 oz), but I don't think more than 600 ml/24 oz is practical. I get two cups out of each pan.
