Review on Intermatic IG2240 IMSK Intermatic Smart Guard IG2240 IMSK Whole Surge Protector by Ryan Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks great but installation is not for unqualified/licensed users.

I only gave it a low rating of Easy to Install because this installation is not for the faint of heart or those who don't know anything about electronics. It's not a do-it-yourself/no-skills job. Now there is good. The technical reviews for this product are great. Raven price is good. Installing the module means a $45 replacement after the mod is released. Since I bought a spare mod, my wife with electrical issues can replace the mod when I'm out. Our internal service panel is located in the garage. I have attached two photos showing the LED indicators both in the light and in the dark. They are bright and easy to see when the module's state changes. This is important so that the homeowner is aware of the condition and can take appropriate action. My setup involved cutting wire access holes in both the unit and the installed internal panel to allow for a direct, shortest direct connection of the wires to the first two poles. In connection with this, the wiring inside the device has been changed. Installed on 08/15/2019. Once the mod is released I will update this review so buyers know how long the mod will last. I live in Florida and every circumstance is unique. I will also update the information after about six months of protection. Our house wiring includes electricity outside of our house, directly across from our indoor panel, which has a small main panel that powers outdoor devices such as an AC condenser, outdoor kitchen, etc. I've applied an Intermatic AG3000 weatherproof coating to the exterior panel for added protection from a limited number of external elements. The internal electronics were my main concern. The AG3000 is disposable, so there are no capsules on it.
