Charger only works as expected. You pinch the sides to open them, insert the Versa with the battery contacts facing the contacts on the charger, and wait for the battery to charge. You can tap the Versa to see if it's empty, or use the Fitbit app on your phone to check the battery level. For the rating I had to mark asterisks for "Mobile Application" and "Cleanliness". I don't know why they are there. The charger isn't clean and the app is downloaded to your phone from your app store, so those criteria don't really apply.
