These oral hygiene sponges are very disappointing. They come in a box, individually wrapped. When you open each sponge, the chemical smell is quite strong. I wanted to use them for my special needs child's oral care. However, with such an obvious chemical involvement in the making of this product, I am very hesitant to do so. The second issue I have is that there is a hard area right around the center of each sponge that appears to be the result of the sponge being attached to the stick with glue (which could very well be a chemical issue) . See next to fig. Hard spot directly on the blue sponge near the top of the stick down. Even if the sponge gets wet, the hard spot will not dissolve. I will not buy this product again.
