Review on Blue Replacement Silica Gel Armor Knee Hip Protector Pads for Motorcycle Riding Pants by Terry Keown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No CE foam, hard silicone, but comfortable and breathable.

This is a hard silicone rubber compound, not a shock-absorbing foam material. They are large which was my main reason for buying them as for a 5ft 8in man most of my motorcycle jeans are made for taller people and the knee pads usually end up against my shins or the top edge rubs against my kneecap. So they probably absorb less impact than CE marked foams, but at least they cover the right parts. So far I prefer the flat version for comfort and camouflage, but I haven't ridden very long so I don't know if the slight flex of the flat shoes will irritate the knee if it gets wedged between the knee and the gas tank. Driving time where the seam of a pair of jeans can rub incorrectly when resting on a gas tank. They ensure good airflow and won't leave sweat stains if you wear them all day. Another note, due to the hard silicone they are quite heavy but at least with the flat pair they don't rub against the kneecaps so I actually notice them less than even the small Sas-tec pads

Pros
  • Protective pants
Cons
  • There's trouble
