These lights seem to work well if you: 1). Be able to insert them into the socket without bending either end of the lamp leads. 2). Have a car that doesn't dim the bulbs you're looking to replace with these. Unfortunately I had both problems. I bought two pairs of red light bulbs to replace all of the interior lights in my 2009 Honda CR-V EX. Installation was a breeze for me. The only tool I needed was a flathead screwdriver with a piece of tape on the end (to avoid scratching the light's plastic assembly). Once before replacing the diffuser I checked each bulb individually by turning them on and also checking each outlet with a multimeter to check the voltage. After making sure everything was working as it should, I replaced the diffusers and set all the headlights to the "door" position. Later that night I returned to my car to see how it looked at night. The light in my car comes on as soon as the door is opened and dims when all the doors are closed. This is where I began to have serious problems with the lightbulbs themselves. When my car started to dim the lights all the lights started humming moderately loud. Loud enough to make me think it was the buzzing of a fly. But unfortunately this was not the case. Changing the polarity and rearranging the bulbs has done nothing but burn my fingers and bend the connectors on the bulbs. I learned very quickly that when lightbulbs are humming, they also generate a massive amount of heat that can severely burn your fingers if you don't give them a minute or two to cool down. And yes, they were expected to get a bit warm, but it was too hot for an LED bulb. The bottom line is, if you're super careful when (dis)installing the bulbs, and your car doesn't have the ability to turn off the dimming, then go get them. If not, you'd be better off looking elsewhere for LEDs that are specifically labeled as dimmable. This would save me quite a bit of time and money if it were on the Revain item list anywhere. For your health.
