They don't grab the hair and hold it tight.

My son bought these because he decided to grow his hair out and needed a way to keep it out of his face but they didn't do the job and didn't hold up well enough . To be fair, that's partly because his hair is in that uncomfortably short, non-behaving state. Yes, they're flexible, maybe stylish to some, and definitely a bargain, but not good enough.
