Review on πŸŽ’ Gonex Waterproof Trekking Backpack - includes waterproof feature by Kevin Harmon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

how did you miss it

I bought this backpack for a trip to a country that was canceled due to COVID-19. Since it has a frame, I started taking it with me on serious hikes. I found this to be a fantastic backpack, comfortable, light weight and fits and stays comfortable in all trail conditions. It was such a great pack that I seriously considered letting my girlfriend use it for night cycling while I switched to my Pro pack. What keeps me from giving this backpack a perfect rating is that I just can't find a spot where I can see the hydrator hose. The lap part of the bag or even the space in front of it can easily accommodate it, but if you want to run the tube, you need to leave it slightly open, put it on top, and tie the tube with Velcro. or something like that. I would highly recommend it as a travel backpack if you plan on carrying a heavy load for a long period of time and don't want to worry too much about the waist belt.; However, the waist belt folds down and isn't too noticeable when not in use. There are small pockets on each side of the waist belt. I carry gum and lip balm with me and sometimes stuff my trash full. It's too small a bag for a leatherman. The side water pockets are great and hold bottles well, I use vapor bottles and even with almost no water in them they stay secure. It's very difficult for me to reach them without taking off my backpack; However, I see this as an opportunity to improve my flexibility. All in all a great solid backpack that is close to perfect but lacks foresight.
