Great item requires a few minimal adjustments

I read reviews and this item had good reviews but not many people had a cruiser writing many had pontoons. I have two lab mixes at 90 pounds each. At first I had the feeling that everything went very easily. Not bulky at all. Luckily we were about 4ft deep as my husband loves beer. He just attached a strap and in the end he just slid down the stairs. Powder layer detached from below. Not a big deal, just wanted to point that out. Straps I think should be improved. I will most likely reread reviews from people who have replaced them with better quality straps. We have an Express Boat 350. We had a Weekender 300 and the swim platform wasn't that difficult to pick up the dogs by the bandana or life jacket handles once we put them on. The swim platform on this boat was difficult as the platform is higher and life jackets must be worn to get it out of the water. We put this over the Labor Day weekend and our 4 year old settled in straight away which is good as he's someone who doesn't know if he wants to be on or off the boat. Our oldest, 6, made it to the stairs but never saw him jump from platform to swim platform. It's very wide. Basically I bought it for him because he gets very tired and wanted him to be able to come and go too. We get stranded on a small island every weekend and didn't want anyone to think we were just letting them fend for themselves in the lake. This item worked well, but like other reviews, wider and better straps may be needed. However, I am very happy with the purchase.
