I bought 2 packs of Door Buddy to give my cats some privacy from my new excited pup. I will say that for the most part it worked great. Here are some tips: 1. If you have a stubborn dog, place the female side upside down. I have found that with the flat edge of the female part raised, the dog can push hard enough to break the female part completely. If the sloping part is facing up, it is less likely.2. Even if you have to twist the strap to secure it, if the female end is attached to the door frame and the end of the strap is attached to the door, it will be more difficult for the dog to push through. This reduces the overall force exerted by the pawl on the latch. Mine was able to slide a bit out the door a few times, but after I reconfigured it couldn't.3. Customer service is excellent. I bought it twice as my dog broke the female part twice before realizing I could put it upside down without the same issues. CS sent me a replacement part with instructions for a more secure fit. Overall I'm very satisfied. Give it a chance!
