EXCELLENT MIC TEST AND RATING I needed a microphone for skype calls and occasional voice and sound recording. I was able to test 11 microphones. Each microphone has been set up with the right sensitivity specifically for each microphone. The distance to each microphone (except two lavaliers) was 17 inches. All mics were set to cardioid except for the Fifine K690 which was set to record in stereo (I found the recordings sounded more natural this way). Then I did two tests: 1) I have great speakers (KRK Rokit 10 G3) and I played "Pink Floyd - Time" through my speakers and recorded it from each microphone. 2) I was reading the same text and making noises in my room (rolling around in a chair, desk drawers opening and closing, etc.). Lavalier MicQueena Steinbeck USB MicTkgou USB Mic M799BTTHE OVERALL WINNER Fifine K690 - recording sounds the most natural, highest sound quality, low noise and high sensitivity. I like the stereo image, it gives volume and "air to breathe" to the recorded sound. 2nd & 3rd place Blue Yeti Nano and HyperX SoloCast - These microphones offer good sound quality and low noise. Competitor of the Fifine K690 in terms of natural sound), very small size, high quality is noticeable, but the noise level is not the lowest (although still decent). BEST MICROPHONES ON A BUDGET $30 TFduce Gooseneck Mic & Tkgou USB Mic M799B - great sound quality for the price BEST MIC FOR VERY SMALL BUDGETQueena Steinbeck USB Mic - Great $10 mic for capturing external sounds, they are only good for voice recording POOR QUALITY MICROPHONES Mokey USB Mic & Cyber Acoustics USB Mic - low sensitivity and very high noise level, which immediately turned out to be inconsequential.
