2020 throwback: 8 years later still with this guy. It seemed to work the day I bought it, even with daily use. EASY TO CLEAN - I use boiling water from a kettle for quick cleaning between dishwasher runs/meals. Nobody ever mentioned it looking like anything other than a spoon rest (come on guys). It was worth every penny and more. Review 2012: I like this spoon holder very much. It's easy to use and even easier to clean. It looks very nice on the board. It definitely doesn't look like the old ceramics I grew up with, but it doesn't look too modern either (which I might expect). Fits right in my kitchen. I really like that there is room for 2 (or 3 or 4 depending on the size of the dishes) plates as I often have more than one. The comments about how it looks make me chuckle, but it's actually the other way around (no pun intended!). When it's on the stove, it looks like a regular spoon rest.
