This was a good camera in its prime but it is 2018 and this camera model was made in the early 2000's. I bought it in 2002 or 2003 and it was mostly reliable back then, except I occasionally remember a videotape coming out and getting tangled in the car. So I advise against buying it. However, if you insist on buying collectible antiques, I will mention the following to you. This camera uses FireWire technology, which means that if your computer is newer than 2007 or 2008, you will need to purchase a FireWire adapter in order for it to work on your computer. It can be found below: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001P1D16I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 However, this FireWire adapter does not have a FireWire cable that connects to the DV port on the Canon ZR40 is compatible, so you need to buy it separately here: https://www.amazon.com/Canon-Firewire-Cable-4-Pin-Pin/dp/B00006GF1T But again, I don't recommend you to buy it. I would recommend the new Panasonic models.
