Review on TYC 622990 Replacement Cooling Assembly by Greg Sullivan

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I'd say poor engineering, but I don't think the engineers were involved.

Flawless performance for 1 year and 1 month. Comes with 1 year warranty. Two of the three screws holding the motor to the fuselage are all the way out, leaving the motor hanging on the last few turns of the last screw. This caused the fan (surprisingly quiet) to rub against its cover. In any case, the engine burned out and the case was damaged. Worth about $1.65 in copper. If you have this fan I would recommend going back with the blue Loctite and reinstalling all the brackets. I'd say it's a spec, but judging by the design of this product, the engineers just created a number to give to the factory in China. Contacted TYC and received no response. Very unsatisfied with their quality. Spare parts of the car should not fail in this way. It is better to buy the cheapest Chinese fan. Build quality and manufacturer support may be the same or better

Pros
  • Harness comparable to OE (no pigtail connector) for easy installation
Cons
  • Interval
