later I bought one of these for the solar installation in my cab above the motorhome. It was basically plug and play with a lead acid battery and I had no problems with it this fall. When I first connected it I had the polarity of the solar panels wrong. The device didn't give any useful error message or anything, it just didn't show any solar power but it basically protected itself and I was able to find the source of the problem. It has a nice timer feature that lets you automatically run a fan or whatever on a schedule if you want to blow air through your RV every day.
