I've been using these Easy Lunchboxes for 3 of my kids for 5 years. I'm happy with their performance and they last the whole school year despite washing them in the bottom rack of the dishwasher every time. The last pack I ordered had a pair that were slightly warped making the lids difficult to put on at the end of the term. Also, they are way too small now that my oldest is in high school. I really wish they made one twice as deep as this one. She likes to grab salads and the like, plus a few side dishes, and a healthy salad just doesn't fit in the sandwich department. Advantages: - They hold up very well despite heavy use and cleaning in the dishwasher. - Compartments make meal prep easier and avoid multiple containers. I love how easy it is to make a quick lunch and how easy it is to empty a container and throw it in the dishwasher. - This company also makes a lunch cooler bag, which is pretty good and perfect for containers that have enough room at the top for things like yogurt or drinks. Cons: To keep them in pristine condition and extend their lifespan to several years, your best bet is to hand wash them or at least keep them on the top shelf. - I wish there were deeper portions for adult meals. Even sometimes for kids, if I want to put something big like strawberries in it, I have to use both "side" compartments, otherwise it won't do. Son who is going to kindergarten soon, I am currently looking for another system that older children can use and that is suitable for large enough salads and side dishes. My kids aren't big sandwich lovers, so for those looking for ideas, here's a list of their favorite main courses to take with them in this lunch box (we almost always have fruit, veg, nuts, or crackers on the side). ): - Taco salad (her favorite) - Caesar salad with chicken and parmesan - Homemade healthy muffins like blueberries, oatmeal or banana chocolate chips - Peanut or almond butter blast (one side compartment has peanut butter and the rest is with stuff for dipping filled PB like veg, fruit, some dark candy bars and crackers) - cheese, crackers and meat (like lunch but with healthier cheese, crackers and meat :) ) - hummus, veg and flatbread - we sometimes take sandwiches of the usual sorts, and they also like peanut butter, apple, and honey sandwiches, which they think taste like caramelized apples.
