Review on VisionTek Radeon 5450 2GB DDR3 Graphics Card Review: DVI-I, HDMI, VGA - 900861, Black/Red by Mike Swanson

One of the problems with buying PC parts and other tech gadgets on Revain is that many old items are listed under the new ones and the search engine doesn't help with the sorting. I bought this graphics card to improve the performance of my powerful but outdated desktop with integrated graphics. Most of the reviews seemed good and the price is good too. However, this was a serious downgrade. I'm not a big gamer, but this card can't even run older games like The Sims without horrible lag, even at reduced graphics quality. So I pulled it out again and put my trusty old integrated graphics chip back to work. Luckily I was able to return the card without haste. My mistake was not carefully studying the characteristics and age of most of the positive reviews. This was a good choice a few years ago and might be better if you have an OLD PC with slightly better SVGA graphics. But for most people, it's outdated and not worth buying. Always check the specifications!
