Works well - Update after 1 year

As for the suction function, the pump works as expected. However, the "intelligent" function turned out to be quite annoying. The pump is designed to start every two and a half minutes and when it detects the presence of water it will stay on to keep pumping. If no water is felt, it turns off. In theory, this seems like a good idea. But the pump isn't quiet, and when you're in a room within earshot of the pump -- say, the kitchen, which is at the top of the stairs to the basement -- the near-constant running gets pretty annoying. When you're in the basement, a startup will scare you to death if you don't expect it. I think I would prefer to have some sort of external sensor that only starts the pump when water is present. The only other complaint I have has more to do with how I had to set up the outsourcing. I had to pump water about 6 feet vertically down the main sewer line. This caused the water to flow back into the pump and out the bottom, so there was always water left over. The instructions say you may need to install a check valve, so I did what solved the problem. - To update. I've had this pump for a little over 1 year now and I've found that it just stops pumping after about a week. . I have to unplug/plug it back in for it to work again.
