We used a 500GB Fantom Drives USB external SSD with a Dell XPS 9570, a 2015 MacBookPro and a Sony phone. I was able to get write speeds of up to 50MB/s with a USB 3.0 MBP port and up to 310MB/s with Dell. Using the Sony phone's USB 2.0 port, I was able to watch an HD video file directly from the drive without lag (I take that for granted when connected via a USB 3.0 port). The drive is remarkable in that I didn't notice any heat development worth mentioning, even during long transfers. My only preference would be smaller external dimensions; The Fantom is about 4.75" x 3.25" and I have another 500MB SSD (from Samsung) which is lighter and smaller, 3" x 2.25". However, the Fantom is still suitable for desktop use as well as being carried in a laptop bag.
