If you have an old 5200 series piston hand pump and it only has plastic rings on the piston (no rubber o-rings) and you are trying to rebuild it for better suction. This set is not for you. The old design made no sense as ONLY the plastic piston rings didn't create a seal between the piston and cylinder. Just throw away the old pump/structure. This kit is SUITABLE for new piston pumps that use BOTH rubber O-rings and plastic piston rings. The problem with the older version of the 5200 series piston hand pump is that it uses ONLY plastic piston rings with no rubber o-rings. If you try to fit rubber rings and plastic piston rings you will never be able to put the piston back into the cylinder. The older version of the 5200 series piston hand pumps was designed to use only plastic piston rings and never created a seal between the piston and cylinder. Bad design. Newer versions use both plastic and rubber piston rings for better sealing/design. They made the grooves on the pistons deeper on the newer design to accommodate both plastic piston rings and rubber rings. The bottom line is if you have an older version of the 5200 series piston hand pump and want to restore it. Forget it. You need to buy a newer version (better design) of the pump. This kit would be a waste of money trying to restore old pump versions.
