I bought this to cover a section of HDPE plastic marine panel. The rug is easy to cut with scissors and a razor blade. After preparing the surface of the plastic sheet with acetone, the backing paper was removed from the mat and the mat was pressed. A weighted cover was placed on the board to hold the mat overnight (that was probably an overstatement). As a result, the kayak worked all weekend with no problems. The gray color I bought is very light compared to the image on the website. When wet the pattern is a little more slippery in one direction than the opposite direction, similar to a fish scale pattern. Next time I'll probably cut strips 2 inches wide and change the direction of the strips.
