I'm 5'4', pear shaped, and would be a XL or possible XXL according to size chart. But because these are my favorite type of skirts and I own several brands, I opted to get the L size. I like them to fit snuggly through the belly, hips, butt. The large does this, but comfortably so. Because the material needs to stretch a little bit more through the booty, I didn't have the problem with them being too long as some did. They hit at the top of my feet. Unfolded, they cover up to my true waist and folded, they fit more like hip huggers. Maybe order a size down if you are short and don't mind it molding the booty. Order true size if you are tall, apple shaped, and/or like it loose all the way through. I don't think they are see through. Good deal on 4 of these for the price.
