Review on Dorman 917-251 VVT Sprocket for Honda Models: Enhancing Engine Variable Valve Timing Performance by Michael Floyd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good replacement part

The 2012 Honda CRV has been making noise on start up for about a year and I kept reading that it wouldn't hurt the engine until the engine skipped the clock and started. I chose the Dorman part as it has good reviews and is a lot cheaper. It was unlocked so installation was easy: screw on and tighten to spec, then twist until it clicks into the locked position. It seems to perform just as well as the OEM VTC and has a good power curve and most importantly no more rattle on startup - this worked for me and saved me a few bucks.
