Very happy to use this belt for glacier kayaking in Alaska. It should work perfectly! The material is like a thick raincoat. Seams are well taped and it appears to be very well constructed except for one issue - velcro. I'm taking off a star because the velcro isn't what I would have preferred. The rough and tangible part is right on the back of the belt, so it fits snugly on the body and snags on your clothes. against my skin, it would rub against my skin and cause pain. If they just swap the velcro pieces and put the rough piece on top of the flap piece then that would be perfect. To get around this I would have to wear the belt backwards which wouldn't be as convenient. (The back of the belt is the front, so the expanding part presses into my body. The belt is easy to wear and the buckle clips are strong. It fits my iPhone XS comfortably and has room for more. The belt has a double zipper , and then the velcro rolls in. It's a little difficult to get the velcro to line up, but the more I use it, the easier it gets.
