Incredible fuel system value

I've spent weeks getting my Onan Marquis 7000 alternator to work properly. It would shut down after 30 seconds or so. If I could get it running for more than a few minutes, it would turn itself off as soon as I loaded it, making it impossible to turn on the AC in my RV. I've changed fuel pumps, fuel filters, fuel lines, tried cleaning the carburetor and nothing has changed except for a slight improvement. Eventually I took it to our local RV dealer to see if they could overhaul the carburetor. They told me they couldn't rebuild them anymore and their only option was to sell me a new carburetor for $400. Either that or order a kit and make it yourself. At the price of this carburetor at Revain I decided it wasn't worth rebuilding myself, although I have to admit I was skeptical that a cheap Chinese carburetor would work. When I saw that the so-called $400 OEM Onan carburetor was also made in China, I decided to try this $60 carburetor. The installation took about 15 minutes. After that, the generator wound up literally from the first start and I haven't stalled since. The generator has literally never worked so well in my owning this RV and there have been no fuel leaks. The only thing I can fault is that one of the two gaskets needed to attach the carburetor to the alternator was wrong. The holes didn't line up and I'm guessing someone put the wrong gasket in the box. Luckily one of the gaskets on my old carburetor was in good enough condition to reuse, otherwise finding the right gasket or making one yourself would have been a challenge. This should probably result in a one star deduction, but I'm so happy to finally have my generator working properly that I'll pretend it didn't. I will probably order another one of these carburetors as a replacement. Living in the South West without being able to turn on the air conditioning in the summer is just not an option. While we usually stay in full hookup parks, while driving on the road when the temperature is over 100 degrees, the air conditioner on the dashboard can't keep up, and we also sometimes need to turn on the air conditioner in the bus.
