These bulbs have a spade connector. One side of the connector is one pin, the other side is the other pin. The contact wire is located on both "surfaces" of the blade terminal. However, I replaced the lightbulbs. Although they had the same left/right pins, the pins are only on one side of the connector. See my illustration. The socket in my BMW clamps on the flat part with one side positive and the other negative. So when I installed these lightbulbs and turned on the power, they shorted out the outlets and blew the fuses. Luckily, the pins can be easily trimmed so they don't cross from one side of the flat piece to the other. A few minutes with wire cutters and a new fuse and I was up and running. I was able to get it working. But if you're looking for a plug-n-play product, be careful. You can accidentally cause a short circuit.
