Review on Newborn Baby Girl Outfits - Hoodie Tops & Infant Clothes For Toddler Girls by Jasmine Lovett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Super Cute, Runs VERY SMALL

The outfit is super cute but it runs SO SMALL. I ordered size 6-12 months so she would have it for cold NY winters. Our daughter is 4.5 months old and is on the 50% percentile for weight. In the majority of other "baby" brands, she is wearing size 3-6M clothing with room to grow. She is only 14.5 pounds (as of this week), it's mid-October, and the pants are already snug on her little waist. I'm glad I pulled it out of her closet when swapping in warmer clothing and putting away her summer clothing, otherwise, she may have entirely outgrown it without a single time wearing it! I wash all clothing before it touches her skin so there was no way I could return this item.Looking at the sizing chart, she falls on the lower end of the range. 6M states 13-16.5 lbs and 12M states 21-23.5 lbs. If it's size 6-12M I expected it to at least fit her until the lower end of the 12M weight range. There is ZERO chance she will fit in the pants at 12-months-old as they are snug now and she isn't even 5-months-old yet. Maybe they need to update their sizing chart as it lists sizes by month vs. month ranges (how it's listed for the product). The listing on Revain says cotton blend but the internal tag says 100% cotton. This is confusing and misleading. There is no way it's 100% cotton due to the way it stretches (there must be some Lycra/Spandex/elastane in the blend). The garment overall has a synthetic feel so I'd be curious as to what percentage of the blend is actually cotton. The listing touts "soften" but I personally find it a bit abrasive and not soft, at all, on the inside. When our daughter wears the hoodie, I layer her in at least a short-sleeve 100% cotton bodysuit so it doesn't touch her skin and cause irritation. For what it's worth, it's cute and at least she will get more wear out of the hoodie. I really prefer cotton clothing for our baby's skin, too. With the sizing running extremely small and an unknown cotton "blend" of fabrics, I don't think I'd purchase it again in the future nor do I recommend it to anyone unless they drastically size up and are ok with a mystery blend of fibers.

Pros
  • Pull On closure
Cons
