I chose this strap and holder for the iPad. It holds it securely to the headrest and I'm pretty sure it will stay in place and hold the iPad in the event of an accident. Some other holders are clamps, rods, plastic and metal objects that become projectiles and can pierce us in the event of an accident. No heavier than a small case, this product is made of nylon and soft leather, so worry less about serious injury than the toughest iPad. The seat belt is tight on my Mazda 3. It stays in place without much movement, but is still weakened. A key feature of this design is a flat pad on the headrest. You cannot adjust the viewing angle. So if your kid is in the middle and the iPad is to the side, it's a little awkward. I'll be at an awkward viewing angle for safety reasons, so I'm fine.
