Enough space for your NUVI and a spare power cord

There are two types of GPS carrying cases. There are small, lightweight cases that clip to your belt and are great for carrying your device when you're leaving your car for a while and don't want to leave your GPS to tempt thieves. But it's also nice to have a safe and permanent place to store your GPS between trips. It might suit you. I use a case to store my NUVI and a spare power cord. The cigarette lighter adapter on my mains cable self-destructed one day, and I've carried a spare ever since. I leave the main power cord attached to my rattle-like "Garmin Portable Friction Mount" (a NUVI must-have, way better than a windshield suction cup) and just wrap it around the base a few times. The friction mount and this case stack nicely on a shelf until I need them and then I only have two things to pick up and take with me. NUVI and power cord. I threw mine away so can't tell. If you still use the suction cup and want to store it along with your GPS, this case probably isn't for you. But if you're using a friction mount and want to carry a spare cable, this works great.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
