Review on ๐Ÿšฟ Enhanced Chrome DELTA U1072-PK 0.5" Diverter Tub Spout by Ian Iknokinok

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well, instructions on how to put on are a bit missing

Wanted to turn the bath tub into a bath/shower in the apartment as the separate shower was too small for me. It was difficult to make sure there were no leaks when using a push-in connector, so I did it like this: 1. Cut a long plastic adapter as instructed.2. Assemble the long plastic adapter and brass adapter easily by hand tightening.3. Place the assembly against the wall next to the copper pipe coming out of the wall as instructed in the instructions to check the fit.4. Cut the copper tubing per the instructions if it is longer than the barbed adapter/plastic adapter assembly. (Mine was fine.) 5. Remove the detachable adapter from the long plastic adapter.6. Wrap the threads of the slip-on adapter and the long plastic adapter four times with Teflon tape as instructed.7. Assemble the brass adapter and long plastic adapter by finger tightening.8. Screw this assembly into the tub spout and hand tighten.9. Using a good pair of wedge pliers, tighten the assembly until snug, making sure the set screw is pointing toward the slot in the bottom of the tub spout. (If yours is the same as mine, the slip-on adapter doesn't sit flush with the end of the tub spout, which indicates a problem with the printed instructions - you can't get a good thread seal if the wall is preventing the tub spout from screwing in far enough on the adapter .)10. Using a small amount of soap to lubricate and protect the o-ring, slide the spout assembly onto the copper tube, making sure the set screw does not go too far into the brass adapter.11. Using the supplied hex wrench or your own, tighten the setscrew just enough that the tub spout does not move easily.12. Seal the perimeter to prevent water from entering the wall, except for the slot at the bottom of the spout. The side adapter fits a standard hand shower hose. There are many shower head holders out there as you usually can't use the ones that screw onto the shower pipe.
