It's important to cover your outlets with something that protects them from UV rays, but even more so from the rain. I've heard various stories of water ingress and the jack malfunctioning, even to the point where it worked by itself. Although there are cheaper options, this cover is great as it fits many types of electrical sockets. You can leave it on all the time and control everything (including the light) through the socket cover. In fact we really like them, this is our second jack, as we originally had an LCI jack we upgraded the trailer and fitted a Strongberg Carlson jack. The only difference between the two (aside from custom fit differences) is that the SC version has a zipped flap to access the switches. Our only "problem" is sometimes remembering to close the hatch. I still have to get used to the new break and cover as the new TT only had 6 rides.
