First of all, this gel nail polish was advertised as a soft pink and it is clearly a pale pink. However, it's a beautiful color and I love how it looks on nails. It was two layers - it's a lot more transparent with one, which is nice because you get some personality - I think with three layers it gets more opaque. With two layers, it doesn't seem too thick either, so building it up shouldn't be a problem. It's a bit stained in places so you have to be careful how you apply it, but other than that I haven't had too many problems. Nice polish, good quality, nice color just not the color I expected.
