Update - spraying with Fabreez helped a lot.Too often I read negative reviews about a smell but don't particularly experience the same with a product if you air it out and/or simply know that things have smells. This one, I have to say, applies - a heavy chemical industrial smell that I have been trying to air out now for a week inside the house and then outside on the porch. I do like the size, the opportunity to store under a bed and it being a reasonably priced item pack, my original reasons to buy. So I want to keep it but what can I do about the smell, when I get time? 1) Manually wash with soap and water as suggested by someone else, 2) only store things that won't be effected by smells (power chords, shoes etc) or 3) place the item in another bag before placing in this one (pillows, clothes that may pick up the smell if not eliminated). With the smell and more thought/ effort needed to use this product then I would like, I removed two stars. But it still works and meets some of my original product requirements thus will not be returning.
