I have two filters Fluval 305 and Fluval 106 and the Aquastop feature on these filters is their weakest link. When Aquastop is new it works great and makes these filters very easy to use. After about a year, however, the plastic begins to lose its integrity, making Aquastop difficult to reinstall after cleaning Fluval 305. Also, it tends to leak when opening or closing. At least the AquaStop feature for the 05 and 06 series can be purchased at a discount so they don't have to be replaced every few years. I also really like my Fluval 305 canister filter. The 305 is the workhorse of the filter and does a great job of keeping the water in two of my planted tanks clean. The fact that this filter ($270 list price) used to sell for about $180 before being replaced by the Fluval 06 series makes the ones I bought new for $89.95 and $119.95 close great prices. And as a fisherman, I always try to make this hobby as accessible as possible.
