I really wanted to believe the many reviews and FAQs that these were real cashmere, so I took a chance and bought two as gifts. Unfortunately, I was pretty sure they were actually acrylic when I felt them. One of them had a loose piece of yarn (exactly the same yarn used to make the scarf) so I did a burn test to make sure. To my dismay, the yarn ignited as if it had been dipped in gasoline and melted, leaving shiny globs of molten plastic at the ends. Are these scarves soft and luxurious? Oh yeah. Are you cashmere? no
