This mini iron didn't work for me. It has no vapor but it's my fault for not reading the description carefully. But with or without steam, I feel like my teeth are tearing my hair out. I'm an African American with flowing hair. I washed and dried my hair thoroughly. Then I used it on my edges and the shortest sections of my hair. I didn't have any product on my hair other than a small amount of heat protectant oil. Maybe I did something wrong, so I won't say there's anything wrong with the iron. I might try it again with some products on my hair and update my review. FYI I bought the Maxi Glide with steam and again no products other than thermal protectant on my hair. The passage through my hair smoothed out a bit, but I still felt like it was too tight. And I feel like it lasted longer than regular irons. And my hair wasn't that straight. Too clumsy.
