My son has accidentally dropped his phone multiple times now while this case was on his phone, and it neither the phone not the case itself have broken. They've even withstood drops on hard floors! Although, he does have a separately bought adhesive ring phone stand that he attached to the back, which could be what protected it whenever his phone fell on its back, as the back of it appears like it might not have a thick enough ridge along its edges on it's back to act as shock absorber for drops, unlike the front of the case.
