I used them for filet mignon steak and pieces of tofu, I immediately liked them for several reasons: the grill was on a low level, I felt that the heat was even so was, not the fat from the meat got on the burners to keep the fire from igniting. The meat is cooked in melted fat which keeps the meat moist, but you can trim the fat before grilling or just wipe it off while grilling, it's definitely not burned so I didn't have to peel the meat off the grill. Bars. Pieces wouldn't fall off steaks, but without a doubt I see an advantage when grilling veggies or fish, or anything that can fall through the grill bar. I recommend them without a doubt. Very small price to get the best grilling experience and in the end I was able to wash and wipe them clean.
