Review on Black Manfrotto 290 Dual Aluminum 3-Section Tripod Kit with 3-Way Head (Model MK290DUA3-3WUS) by Vickie Palmer

This is my second purchase of the Manfrotto 290 tripod. I bought it for my husband as he kept 'borrowing' my tripod to shoot videos in his workshop . I love the versatility of this tripod and use it weekly for photography for my blog and books. You can extend your arm at a 90 degree angle to shoot from above. Ideal for food photography or video recording from above. It was supposed to come with a ball head, but instead we received a box with a 3-way head kit. The UPC label said "ball head kit" but the box itself said "three way head". It was a bit fiddly when we opened the box. But my husband decided to keep it instead of returning it. He decided that the extra control offered by a three-way head could be beneficial. The three-way head is made of plastic, while the ball head is made entirely of metal. I prefer the all metal version as it feels more durable. Both are high quality Manfrotto heads and both use a quick release plate to attach the camera to a tripod, which is very important. I love the ease of use and security that the quick release plate offers.
