Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Oxford OF690Z Premium Adventure Heated Handlebar Grips with Enhanced SEO by Sean Moran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install on a 1979 Suzuki GS850G

My hands always get terribly cold when I ride my bike in temperatures below 35F. I've tried many types of gloves, but even the best (or at least the most expensive) kept the cold out after only a few miles of riding. So I opted for heated grips. I've read a million reviews and it seemed to me that Oxfords offer the best value for money and have good reviews. In fact, the system looks high quality and the installation did not cause any difficulties. The original grips were mounted over a plastic throttle bushing that had raised areas for the grip to grip. Because of these raised "fins," the overall diameter was too large to fit on the Oxford throttle grip, so I had to shave the fins off to hold the plastic bushing, which is about 1" in diameter. This allowed the heated grip to slide right onto the sleeve and after applying the glue the grip stays on the sleeve well. I've read that the system still draws a small amount of current even with the heat control turned off, so it was suggested that you install one key activated relay. I don't know if the system actually draws a small current, but just in case it doesn't drain the battery I decided to just put a switch under the seat on the hot wire between the temperature controller and it was easier than installing a relay and serves the same purpose except that the switch must be turned on before driving in cold weather. I've ridden in cold weather a few times and the Heaterz definitely helps a lot. I only need to use the lowest setting for adequate warmth, and the high t setting causes the grips to get quite warm, if not hot. Overall I am very happy with the quality and performance of the Heaterz as well as the fairly easy installation. I've only had the system for a few months, so I can't comment on durability.
