This is an overview of the 9000 Btu block. They claim that this is enough for rooms up to 250 square meters. ft. The area of my cabin is 209 square feet. feet, and on a hot day with blackout drapes to block the sunlight, with the unit set to its lowest temperature, 64°F, and a fan. Going flat out keeps it pretty cool. But turn the fan down to a quieter medium speed and the heat will catch up and dominate, only making the room warm. Overall it's very well made, with quality materials, and I'd expect a higher BTU device to do the job better. . I will return this one and try it. I would recommend a 9000 BTU unit for maybe 150 square feet. foot or less. Or maybe a large room where it's not 95° outside. Customer service is another issue. I have asked several times what the power consumption characteristics are like and have only received confirmation that the request has been received, but never received an answer to my question. Since it's not Energy Star certified, I'm worried about my electric bill. I would expect a sturdier device to deserve four stars here, but the lack of the promised cooling performance for this one pushed that down significantly. But again, this is a well-made block that's worth considering if it's the right size for the space.
