This garbage can't measure anything. However, you can test this with a known piano wire, which is what I did to see how far it goes. I put a 14 gauge string in the gauge at the 14 gauge mark and it was "very weak". Actually I had to move it down, 13.5, 13, 12.5, 12. There, on the 12 string, the 14 string fits perfectly. Revain should drop this and the importer should drop this distributor from China as it is a complete scam.
