I bought this to replace a plastic cable tie gun someone had on loan. This steel pistol turned out to be the best tool. But that doesn't cut the tie. Tension can be increased to improve tightness, but this requires too much tension and can damage the wires being tied. I cut with side cutters. In addition, it is difficult to align the plank in the tool. I will return my plastic tool. It cuts flush and is easier to use. It was $13 when I got it 6 years ago. That's $16 (P/N 990080) from Del City, a dollar more than I just got.
