I think this is a used item, it shows signs of having been tried before. It is not possible to set the thickness wheel to anything other than 0.1 and 2, and it is extremely difficult to do so. Even with these settings, there is no tie. I would send it back but it's costing me more than it's worth. I am very disappointed in this product. You get what you pay for and I should have known better than to buy a cheap product, even for the small, infrequent projects I need it for.

I bought this to replace a plastic cable tie gun someone had on loan. This steel pistol turned out to be the best tool. But that doesn't cut the tie. Tension can be increased to improve tightness, but this requires too much tension and can damage the wires being tied. I cut with side cutters. It has never worked consistently and I thought it was because I'm left handed but after watching lots of videos of it being used I realized that mine was wrong . Don't waste your money on this. It tightens the tie (and therefore gets 2 stars for "easy to use"), but the tailor doesn't work. If the tie is small enough, the tail will come off, but in an indeterminate place. The tail stump still needs to be trimmed flush with side cutters or wire cutters.
