Review on Capresso 485 05 10 Cup Programmable Thermal by Nathan Theriault

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I have had a Capresso coffee maker for over 30 years and decided to give it another try.

Thirty years ago I bought a Capresso coffee maker for $120. I remember when I got home I was overcome by the buyer's remorse, $120 was a lot of money, especially back then. But it literally took me over 30 years so I chose Capresso again and haven't regretted it yet. It brews louder than my old trusted friend but makes great coffee and is easy to use and clean. Based on some reviews, I was concerned that the carafe would not keep the coffee warm and that it would spill when poured. I find this keeps the coffee warm enough when the lid is tightly closed. My husband had a spill problem while pouring his first cup. This was an easy fix, I explained as with any pitcher if you tilt the spout so the flow comes out more than the width of the spout it will be a problem. Now that he no longer tilts the carafe excessively, that's not a problem. For now I give it a five star rating. Big question, time will tell. Will it last as long as the original Capresso? I'm one of those people who take good care of their stuff, if I only get 10 years I'll be perfectly happy. Thirty was an exceptional pleasure. By the way, we have a mother unit, I'm moving an old car there, it still makes good coffee. The only reason I replaced the old unit was because I wanted a more modern coffee maker.
